Dhanteras 2024 Muhurat Time, Puja Vidhi, Shopping Time

Dhanteras falls on October 29 in the year 2024. According to Vedic Panchang, it falls on Trayodashi of Krishna Paksha in Kartik. The worship of Dhanteras is connected with the worship of Lord Dhanwantari, God of Health and Ayurveda, God of Death (Yamraj), and God of Wealth (Lord Kuber). As per general belief, buying gold, silver, and utensils during Dhanteras will bring good luck. Besides, this day is the birth anniversary of Lord Dhanwantari, known as Dhanvantari Jayanti.

Dhanteras 2024 Puja Vidhi

On Dhanteras Evening: Install an idol or picture of Lord Kuber and Lord Dhanwantari facing the north side. Light a ghee lamp (diya) in front of each deity. Give white sweets to Lord Kuber and yellow sweets to Lord Dhanvantari. First, worship Lord Kuber by speaking the mantra Om Hreem Kuberaya Namah. Then start chanting the Dhanwantari Stotra from the book for Lord Dhanwantari. Share in the prasad after the recitations. After Dhanteras, place Lord Kuber in the treasury and Lord Dhanvantari at the main place of worship for Diwali.
